We have upgraded the Omano OM2300S to provide one of our best value boom stereo microscopes. As of June 2008, the microscope includes upgraded optics with 7x-45x zoom range (as opposed to the previous 7.5x-35x range), better overall optical quality, a 0.5x Barlow lens and an 8W fluorescent light ring. Widefield 10x eyepieces and a solid metal base complete this comprehensive microscope system.
Note: 8W ring light is included in addition to any optional upgrade.
Microscope Head
The upgraded microscope head is inclined at 45º and rotates through 360º for flexible viewing options. The standard working distance is 100mm (4.5") with a maximum working distance of 163mm (7.5") when using the included 0.5x Barlow lens. For convenient focusing the diopter has an adjustment range of +/- 5mm and the interpupillary adjustment range is 55-75mm.
Beam Splitter and Illumination
For photomicrocraphy applications, the optional trinocular port has a beam splitter that directs light to the trinocular port and the right-hand eyetube. Illumination is provided by an included 8W fluorescent light ring and for your convenience, we have included a metal adapter to attach the light ring when the Barlow lens is not in use.
Microscope Base
The base is solid with the entire system weighing 43lbs. The base plate measures 9" x 9" and includes a horizontal arm that extends 15" and 21" with the attached focus block.
Microscope Applications
This is an excellent and affordable microscope for commercial uses such as surface mount manufacturing and inspection as well as hobbies such as viewing collections of meteorites, tektites, minerals, and fossils among others.
