The Dino-Lite AM2011 is Dino-Lite's entry-level model. Priced well, it is unquestionably better value than cheaper competing products that lack the quality of software and design. The 2011 is, in our opinion, the best in class and we recommend it compared to cheaper imitations. It offers 10x~50x and 230x zoom magnification with 640x480 pixel resolution, USB 2.0 output and four Always-On LED lights. This is an excellent choice for hobbyists, Grade schools and kids.Features
The AM2011 includes10x~50x and 230x variable magnification, LED illumination and a tough, ABS plastic shell encasing a 1/4" color CMOS sensor. In addition, the series offers video frame rates up to 30 fps and the ability to save files in BMP, JPG and AVI format. Professional-quality imaging results can be viewed on any computer via high speed USB 2.0 output and the included DinoCapture (for PC) or DinoXcope (for MAC) software.Stands

Dino-Lite includes software for both PC (DinoCapture 2.0) and Mac (DinoXcope) computers. PC software is compatible through Windows 8 and Mac through OSX 10.5 and later. We have found the software to be robust and reliable with some great features as follows: image capture, storage and email, live and time lapse video (up to 30fps), annotation, geotagging, full screen capability, auto and manual exposure control, picture within picture zoom (magnifier) and more. Above all the color resolution is excellent due to fixed white-balance calibration which is set at the factory using a jeweler's color balance.FREE DinoVision Software
There is also additional, free software available for download: DinoVision enables easy image drag-and-drop, split, overlay and comparison, which has proven useful for Forensic Scientists and more sophisticated users where image manipulation is important.Optional WiFi Adapter
The new MSVC72W WiFi adapter turns any Dino-Lite USB-enabled microscope into a portable inspection station, streaming images or live video to an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android tablet or wireless computer. The onboard battery pack offers up to 6 hours of service and you can network with up to 10 devices at once, from up to 50 feet away. Adapter sold separately.
