Summary
The MT 9900 series are polarizing microscopes with both incident and transmitted illumination. They offer versatile observation and study of birefringent qualities of rocks, minerals, polymers and other opaque or translucent material.. They employ a superior infinity corrected optical system that includes three plan objectives, 4x , 10x and 40xS. The intermediate tube enables orthoscopic or conoscopic observation with integrated Bertrand Lens and included compensators. A coated rotatable stage and Koehler transmitted and incident illumination is included. Designed for advanced educational and laboratory use. Available in binocular or trinocular Lifetime Limited Warranty.
Optics
Equipped with Seidentopf binocular or trinocular head inclined at 30º for comfortable viewing. The head has interpupillary adjusment of 53mm-75mm and a single diopter for individual eye adjustment. There are three DIN Infinity Corrected Strain Free Plan 4x, 10x and s40x objective lenses set in a smooth-operating, ball bearing mounted, quadruple nosepiece. Eyepieces include one KHW10xCP compensating eyepiece and one KHW10x with cross-line and guide pin.
The trinocular head has an 80/20 beam splitter for photomicrography (100% to eyetubes or 80% to phototube & 20% to the eyetube). Please note that you will need an adapter appropriate for your camera.Polarizer
The rotatable polarizer is in a swing-out mount with click stops at 0° and 90°. Both the Analyzer and Bertrand Lens are in sliding mounts. The Bertrand Lens is rotatable. The slide opening in the limb accepts DIN standard 20mm x 6mm compensators with a Mica 1/4 wave plate and first order red plate included.
Stage & Focus
The circular stage is ceramic coated to resist wear with 360º graduations, vernier and stage clips. The stage is 175mm in diameter. Focusing is via dual sided coaxial coarse/fine focus knobs.
Condenser & illumination
The condenser is a centerable strain free Abbe N.A. 1.25 with iris diaphragm in dovetail mount. Mounted in a centerable condenser holder with rack and pinion adjustment. Illumination is Koehler 30W halogen for both vertical incident illumination and transmitted illumination. Universal voltage 110V-220V with automatic sensor.
