Metallographic microscopes are compound microscopes especially designed for observing the etched surface of a polished metal specimen. With both bright and darkfield microscope capability, these light microscopes meet the requirements of research and inspection in fields such as metallurgy, electronics, semi-conductors and crystallography and are specially designed for the observation of metal objects.
This metallurgical microscope is also a tool maker's microscope or measuring microscope. Used for measuring machine parts, metallurgical research or routine optical inspection, it may be used with digital or manual stage micrometers.
