The Omano OMM300 inverted, metallurgical microscope provides superb optics, built-in polarization capabilities, color filters and a host of other thoughtful details.
The five plan objectives (4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 80x) and epi-Kohler lighting with aperture iris diaphragm and field iris diaphragm, form the backbone of the optical system. They are supported by a slide in/out polarizing disc and fully rotatable analyser, 360 degree rotatable color filters ( brightfield, yellow, green, blue), full, parfocal focusing abilities and an adjustable back light. Three WF10X eyepieces are included, one of which has a crosshair, linear reticle.
The XY microscope stage is excellent. It is large, solid and can handle unlimited size specimens. The stage measures 242mm x 172mm with a moving range of 75mm x 50mm. For added versatility, the stage can be used in two configurations - with or without the central mechanical stage. In addition, the stage includes a thoughtful addition in the form of a standard slide/petri dish rack. This rack enables viewing of 22mm diameter petri dishes and standard 1"x3" inch slides.
For the microphotographer, the trinocular port remains open without closing an eyepiece and fits a standard 23mm smooth T port. A further thoughtful inclusion is a 25mm C-Mount adapter.
Standard items include an ergonomically designed trinocular head, inclined at 45 degrees, inter-pupillary adjustment with diopter, variable halogen light, coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs with rack and pinion mechanism and rubber eyecups.
