Summary
The OM5501 teaching microscope has impressive optics, 100W bright illumination and, unlike many teaching microscopes, some useful teaching aides. For example, the images are identical and not reversed, which makes teaching significantly easier. In addition, a convenient green pointer enables the teacher to pinpoint areas of interest on the slide and to then fade it out when done. There are four achromatic objectives with maximum magnification of 1,000x and full professional features such as a mechanical stage and 100W halogen illumination. Lifetime Limited Warranty.Optics
The OM5501provides crisp images with the student microscope heads set 17" from the primary teaching head. The optics include five sets of WF10x eyepieces with included eyecups, and four achromatic objective lenses (4x, 10x, 40xS, 100xS oil immersion). Unlike many such teaching microscopes, the OM5501 provides upright images to each student. A green pointer is useful for the teacher to identify specific areas on the slide and the pointer brightness can be controlled by a fade in/out control. This is useful as when not in use, many pointers can be a distraction. Each head has interpupillary adjustment of 55-75mm and dual diopters for convenient individual focusing.Stage & Focus
The microscope includes a full mechanical stage with easy-to-use, right hand,drop down coaxial coarse/fine controls. The stage measures 124mm x 153mm with a 80mm-50mm range of movement. It includes a spring-loaded clamp for slide retention. Focusing is ambidextrous with rack and pinion operation and coaxial coarse/fine controls for ease of operation.Condenser & Illumination
The condenser is a professional Abbe 1.25 N.A with iris diaphragm and filter. Blue and green filters are included. The illumination is powerful and includes a 24V/100W halogen illuminator so each student benefits from strong, clear images.Accessories
