At last! A truly excellent entry-level, digital microscope camera. In our opinion, the OptixCam OCS-350K USB microscope camera offers simply the best value for money on the market.

Designed for school and home use, the camera has an immediately obvious professional design and construction. Unlike many entry level microscope cameras it does not require a driver so it is very easy to use - simply plug it in to your USB port and start to use it. Unlike any other competing  cameras, it includes a 0.5x adapter lens which enables a full field of view for an infinitely better viewer experience.

Also unlike competing cameras, it includes professional OptixCam OC View measuring software; OC View includes auto white balance and time-lapse photography, among many other features (see below). To round out a remarkable package, we have been impressed by both the color resolution and the high speed live-imaging which exhibits minimal vignetting; vignetting is typically a major drawback of competing cameras so this is a major step forward.

Two lens mounts are included - C-Mount integrated into the camera and 23mm eyepiece included in the 0.5x adapter. In addition, two optional collars are offered (30mm and 30.5mm) for trinocular ports or irregular eyepieces.

0.5x Adapter for 23mm Eyepiece

The included 0.5x adapter is designed to fit a 23mm eyepiece while optional 30mm and 30.5 mm collars are available for maximum flexibility. The advantage of this 0.5x adapter over competing microscope cameras is that the lens offers a materially enhanced viewing experience with a significantly larger field of view. As far as we are aware, no other sub-$100 USB microscope camera offers such image quality.

OC View Measuring Software
At no extra cost, the OCS-350K includes standard OC View professional microscopy measuring software.  OC View software provides simple, accurate and easy-to-use controls for image capture, notation and measuring. Measuring capabilities include length, width, height, thickness, circumference, radius, angles and dot counts while notations can be easily made on any given image. The software also includes auto white balance and color enhancement among other benefits while image capture and storage is intuitive.
