The Dino-Lite Pro AM413ZT boasts essentially the same features as the Dino-Lite 413T but also includes a Polarizing element.

Polarized light microscopy is useful to reduce the effects of glare, particularly from highly reflective surfaces. With uniform illumination, you can view more surface detail, making this digital microscope ideal for materials inspection (plastics, metal parts, coins, jewelry) as well as rock and mineral identification.

The polarization level can be changed from full to half, and if no polarization is necessary, simply switch off the feature altogether.

The measuring function, which is also available on the 413T model, allows the user to input the magnification value from the microscope's zoom control and then to measure the length, angle, and circumference of the specimen. Both linear and geometric measurements can be captured quickly and easily.

For more accurate measurements, the software can be calibrated using a known scale (such as a ruler), although the viewer should recognize the inherent limitations of accurate measurements with a handheld microscope.
