    Summary

The Motic AE2000MET is designed for the engineering test lab or materials research laboratory and delivers the sharp optical performance these applications require. The proven CCIS Infinity Optical System features 4 LM Plan Brightfield Objective lenses mounted in a side-facing quintuple nosepiece. Please call for configurations with fewer objective lenses.

Combined with with two N-WF10x eyepieces, the microscope offers 50X to 1,000X magnification. In addition, uniquely integrated features include auto-power-cutoff and an optional ergonomic viewing tube. Standard illumination includes a 12V50W or 12V100W Halogen system with external lamp house and a simple polarization set, for a versatile and highly capable observation platform.

    Optics

The Siedentopf trinocular head is inclined at a comfortable 45° and offers interpupilliary adjustment from 48mm to 75mm. The butterfly movement also increases the viewing height by 40mm to accommodate a wide variety of users, and dual diopter adjustment minimizes eye strain and fatigue. The standard high eye-point FN 20 N-WF 10X eyepieces will accept optional reticles, and an 80:20 beam-split trinocular tube allows for image capture without interrupting the observation process. Standard Plan Brightfield and Darkfield metallurgical LWD objectives feature proprietary multi-layer coating for improved light transmission, yielding significantly brighter and sharper images. They are housed in a liquid-proof, side-facing, bearing-supported quintuple nosepiece.

    Stage & Focus

The standard mechanical stage measures 280mm x 180mm with 50mm x 50mm of X-Y travel and includes a replaceable glass insert with 45mm opening, along with a metal insert with a contoured cutout to provide clearance for the objectives. Coaxial coarse/fine focus controls include adjustable tension control and are ergonomically-positioned for comfort and ease of use.

    Condenser & Illumination

The N.A 0.30 condenser features an extra long working distance and is set in a dovetail mount. A centering telescope and intensity-controllable 12V50W Halogen bulb and external lamp house combine to produce bright, evenly-illuminated images. A 12V100W version is optionally available for specialized applications. For added safety the AE2000MET also features power-smart technology which uses an IR motion sensor to automatically enter "sleep mode" after 15 minutes of inactivity. Normal power is restored upon the users return.

The AE2000MET is setup for Dark Field (high-intensity) observation as standard configuration. Upon switching to Bright Field observation mode, the system automatically steps down the illumination intensity to ensure a comfortable Bright Field viewing experience.
