Summary

A perfect starter microscope when you do not know if the child will maintain their interest. The Omano OM115LD compound microscope offers an innovative solution to the age-old question: Low power or high power for that first microscope? While first and foremost a high power microscope, the OM115LD also includes a top light to enable viewing of macro specimens (insects, crystals leaves etc) at lower magnification levels. It includes three objective lenses (4x, 10x, 40x) for maximum magnification of 400x - perfect for that first time microscopist!

Microscope Optics

The OM115LD is a monocular compound microscope used for examining cellular structures on slides. The ocular is angled at 45º and rotates through 360º for flexible viewing positions. A 10x eyepiece combines with three objective lenses (4x, 10x, 40x) for magnification levels that include 40x, 100x and 400x. The addition of a top or incident LED light enables it to also to view macro specimens with the 4x objective.

Stage & Focus

A plain stage is included with dual-sided rack and pinion focus controls.

Condenser & Illumination

The condenser has a six-hole aperture with dual top and bottom LED illumination being powered by 3 x AA batteries. The microscope includes a 10x eyepiece and three objectives: 4x, 10x, 40x for magnification settings of 40x, 100x or 400x.

Accessories

The microscope always includes the following accessories: 5 blank slides, 1 well slide, 5 prepared slides, slide labels, lens paper, forceps, plastic test tube and Petri dish among others. Six month warranty. However, you will quickly find that additional accessories are needed and we offer a choice of 3 useful packs below.
