Brightfield (BF)

The standard for metallurgical inspection. High-intensity incident light reveals surface details, colors, and textures by capturing light reflected directly from the sample.

Darkfield (DF)

By excluding unscattered light, Darkfield observation makes surface defects, scratches, and grain boundaries "glow" against a dark background. This is essential for identifying micro-flaws and characterizing new materials.

Simple Polarizing Light
