We are excited about this simple polarizing unit for the Dino Lite digital microscopes. Geologists traveling and working in the field will surely find this portable, lightweight, USB or AC powered polarizer convenient and easy to use. Similar to the BL-ZW1, the new "R" variant includes an attachment adapter to connect the backlight stage easily to RK-10A, MS35B and MS36B stands.
Popular uses include geological applications to investigate the structure and composition of minerals and crystals. Another popular use is for the viewing of thin film which would be hard to distinguish under normal circumstances. The BL-ZW1R should also be of great use for those who need transmitted light for examining objects such as waterborne organisms.
The BL-ZW1R works very well with Dino-Lite's polarizing models (AM4XXXZT / AM7XXXZT). This easy-to-use back-light stage with polarizing ability comes with an attachable swing arm specimen holder for specific placement of objects. The sturdy and attractive back light stage is powered through a USB connection or an AC adapter. Adjustment of the polarizer is simply performed by sliding the wheel adjustment on the front of the stage.
