MT9420H Binocular Polarizing Microscope

Summary

The MT 9000 series are polarizing microscopes with incident illumination and are designed for observation and study of bi-refringent qualities of rocks, minerals, polymers and other opaque material. They employ a superior infinity corrected optical system that includes three plan objectives, 4x , 10x and 40xS. The intermediate tube enables orthoscopic or conoscopic observation with integrated Bertrand Lens and included compensators. A coated rotatable stage and Koehler illumination are included. Designed for advanced educational and laboratory use. Available in binocular or trinocular versions. Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Optics

Equipped with Seidentopf binocular or trinocular head inclined at 30º for comfortable viewing. The head has interpupillary adjusment of 53mm-75mm and a single diopter for individual eye adjustment. There are three DIN Infinity Corrected Strain Free Plan 4x, 10x and s40x objective lenses set in a smooth-operating, ball bearing mounted, quadruple nosepiece. Eyepieces include one KHW10xCP compensating eyepiece and one KHW10x with cross-line and guide pin.

Polarizer

The rotatable polarizer is in a swing-out mount with click stops at 0° and 90°. Both the Analyzer and Bertrand Lens are in sliding mounts. The Bertrand Lens is rotatable. The slide opening in the limb accepts DIN standard 20mm x 6mm compensators with a Mica 1/4 wave plate and first order red plate included.

Stage & Focus

The circular stage is ceramic coated to resist wear with 360º graduations, vernier and stage clips. The stage is 150mm in diameter. Focusing is via dual-sided coaxial coarse/fine focus knobs.

Condenser & illumination

The condenser is a centerable strain free Abbe N.A. 1.25 with iris diaphragm in dovetail mount. Mounted in a centerable condenser holder with rack and pinion adjustment. Illumination is Koehler 6V 30W with universal voltage (110V-220V automatic sensor).
